Meet Teresa
My interests in health and wellness began with a passion for food and world culture. In my early twenties, I began a career as a professional chef which is where my love of food blossomed and my appreciation of food as medicine for our bodies began. I later pursued a degree at the University of Nevada, Reno and earned my BA in Spanish and Cultural Anthropology in 2007. I went on to earn my 200 hr certification as a RYT and continue to train with Yoga Medicine, working toward my advanced 500 hr training certification. I strongly value the principals of the Yoga Medicine program, which weave together elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation, yoga, myofascial release and meditation to create a wide range of healing modalities. I enthusiastically share these concepts with my patients to empower them, encouraging such useful tools to be used on a personal level, in their own homes.
In 2023 I received my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Chinese Medicine is powerful. It was developed over thousands of years of observation and experience, and has a rich history of preventative medicine, as well as a comprehensive approach to care during illness. I strongly believe in a holistic approach to health, which is what is emphasized in this medicine.
Recognizing the uniqueness of each person is something I am passionate about. My love of guiding every patient on their own journey towards wellbeing, suited to their needs, interests and capabilities, is what I strive to accomplish in my practice.
I embrace the teachings of wellness and fulfillment across time and humanity and my interests in living a life of holistic health continue to grow to this day.
Becoming a part of your healing journey is something I consider as a privilege and I honor the process with compassion and gratitude. I look forward to meeting you and creating a plan for your wellness. ALL are welcome!
